As we move back through the room, we pass the downstairs bathroom (half-bath) that is adjacent to the building entrance.
The entrance seems to be blocked, which is a shame because the toilet seat seems of-so-comfortable padded by those bazillion rolls of paper towels.
Hope you can hold it in until we get upstairs.

Approaching the stairs, we can look back into the den for some more views of the general state of the room. Bear in mind that this is, or at least used to be, the most important room in the house, being the room that was used to enter and exit the home, the room that my dad did all of his work in, and the room for stereo listening and demos.
A high power amplifier of my dad's design sits open to the left in this photo, below the equipment rack, waiting in limbo for some state of upgrade or repair. Toward the center you can see the silver metal walker that was intended to help my mom get around the house. Keep that in your thoughts as we view the rest of the house.
