Many of the days at Cedar Point begin with a thick fog blanketing the peninsula. Tall rides such as Millennium Force and Power Tower disappear quickly into obscuring clouds.
A ride on Millennium Force at this time offers the unique experience of not being able to see any hint of the ground below. During the rise of the lift, even the tallest peaks of nearby Mantis slowly vanish until the only thing below is a smooth unchanging sheet of white. Face ahead and the peak of the lift hill cannot be seen, allowing no clue as to when that first drop will begin. The plummet downward is enhances, first by the feeling of soaring at an unknown height amongst the clouds, then by the ground as it quickly appears and solidifies as you plummet directly toward it. It is an unearthly experience for those lucky enough to chance upon it.
