An alternate view of Mantis, seen from the lagoon side. This view is not generally visible from within the park, but the park's boatride around the lagoon island passes by and under the Mantis midcourse brake. The train in the background is heading downward out of the Immelman dive, and the inclined loop is just left of center in the photo. The spiral staircase leads up to the midcourse brake run.
The exit of the inclined loop sweeps into a dip under the final brake, in a graceful motion reminiscent of a bit of flowing script. Behind that, what appears as a twisted jumble of track lies in defiance of its carefully engineered and executed nature.
