Montu is a classic B&M style "inverted" coaster, with a large sprawling layout and several elements that dip below grade through underground tunnels and trenches.
Although the ride begins with the fairly standard combination of B&M elements; vertical loop (104 ft)-Immelman roll-camelback "zero-G" roll; the traditional B&M "cobra roll" is replaced with a unique element labeled a "batwing." This double looping dive creates nice positive-G forces at the bottom, and is much smoother and more entertaining than the cobra roll in this riders opinion.
A unique feature of this ride plays off the wild animal theme that pervades the Tampa Bay park: upon leaving the station the trains pass over a pit of live crocodiles as they turn to head toward the lift hill!
